Sewing Wild Seeds:
Reviving Antigua's Seedwork Legacy
What is Seedwork?
Seedwork is dying, Antiguan craft, where jewellery, accessories, and decorative household items are made using seeds, specifically Wild Tamarind and Jumbie Seeds. The patterns and techniques are uniquely Antiguan, and have existed for hundreds of years. Now only 3 women remain who are master artisans of this craft. I collaborated with Botanique Studios, a local organisation who are reviving the craft, to be able to return home to Antigua to learn all about it. Below are some photographs and the project zine I made.
Check out my instagram, to learn more about the project.
