Yemaya Moon

Yemaya, frequently portrayed as a mermaid, is the Goddess of oceans and waters. She is the guardian of women and children, embodying love, healing, and fertility. Often symbolised by the moon, cowrie shells, and the number 7. This series envisions Yemaya as part of the myth of the Black underwater civilization, offering a new possibility for lives lost at sea and infusing hope into a painful history.
